The polarization in the media has become so ridiculous, so it is refreshing to have come across David Ferris and E&E Politico, who did a piece titled “Here comes the Cybertruck, loaded with controversy.”
The article gives both “sides,” or I should say three segments (“So weird it’s normal,” “Bad 80’s movie prop,” and “An iPhone moment?’) of the narrative surrounding the newly launched Cybertruck, which I see the product as a reflection of Elong and all of the companies he has contributed to.

The initial question:
When you look at this, what do you see?
– David Ferris
I’m writing a story for E&E News and POLITICO about public perceptions of the Tesla Cybertruck. When it releases on Nov. 30, it promises to be a category-shattering vehicle. Cybertruck is controversial not just because of its design, but because one’s opinion may be tied to a lot of other things: Elon Musk, Tesla, Twitter/X, Texas, electric vehicles, trucks.
What are your thoughts? Sound off below.
My response amid all the emotional and disparaging comments mainly on the aesthetics:
I love it. It goes to show the risks Elon is willing to take vs the conservative group think other companies merely abide to appease the status quo (filled with “business majors”). It’s how he changed EVs, rocketry, tunneling, and is about to give people’s eyesight and the use of their body due to paralysis, along with robotics to phone service globally.
My blurb:
For those who appreciate the vehicle, it’s Musk who deserves the kudos. “It goes to show the risks Elon is willing to take vs the conservative group think other companies merely abide to appease the status quo (filled with ‘business majors’),” wrote Greg Taniguchi, a brand strategist in Denver.
It is scary to think how emotions, tribalism, partisanship, and groupthink take over so many topics that used to be wrangled by the Walter Cronkites, Dan Rathers, and Diane Sawyers, instead of the average Joe’s feelings.
You can say the same with my take on the Cybertruck, and regardless of what the naysayers say, this vehicle makes several industry firsts and is groundbreaking, that is a fact, backed by well-respected industry experts like Sandy Munro (the long list of attributes, I have listed below):

Why the Cybertruck is such a big deal:
• 17.44″ ground clearance (16″ exp) • 4680 structural pack • 48-volt electrical system • Steer by wire • Rear-wheel steering • Pressured battery feature for driving through water (Wade Mode) • PowerShare (charge another Tesla/power your home) • 0-60mph in 2.6s (2.9s exp) • Powered frunk • 240v outlet (220 exp) • 11,000 tow rating for dual motor (10k exp) • Home Energy/Virtual Power Plant integration • Range extender for RWD and AWD trims (coming soon) • Front bumper camera with integrated washer • Rear screen for passengers • Katana wiper • No door handles • 340-mile range for Dual-Motor AWD (~300 expected) • 350kW charging capability
However, I would add and emphasize the Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled martensite stainless-steel structural exoskeleton.
